September 17– Newark Community Day 

We are excited to announce that for the first time, Cooch’s Bridge Chapter NSDAR will be participating in Newark Community Day! The City of Newark’s Parks and Recreation Department, in cooperation with the University of Delaware and the Christina School District will be hosting the area’s premier fall festival on Sunday, September 17. This exciting event features fun for the entire family. Cooch’s Bridge will have a table at the event to share information about our organization and how we at DAR contribute to the community, and to chat with those  interested in joining our efforts in promoting patriotism, education, and historic preservation. About the festival- The Green provides the perfect outdoor venue for local musicians and demonstration groups. A food court will have a variety of foods. Fine Art and Homemade Craft vendors will be displaying and selling their creations. The Children’s Area includes Scarecrow Making and more. Community Information booths and activities are supplied by a variety of local businesses and organizations. Enjoy dining and retail specials at Main Street merchants.

Become a member

As one of the most inclusive genealogical societies in the country, DAR boasts some 3,000 chapters across the United States and internationally. Any woman 18 years or older (regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background), who can prove lineal descent from a Patriot of the American Revolution is eligible for membership. If you are interested in joining DAR and our chapter, please complete the membership interest form and contact our registrar by clicking Cooch's Bridge Registrar.
