Cooch's Bridge Daughters are once again encouraged to attend this public meeting. Due to the overwhelming response last month to the open house, DelDot has scheduled this additional session. If you are unable to attend, members are encouraged to submit their concerns in writing regarding the preservation and future use of the Cooch property. We hope to see you there!

Interested persons are invited to express their views in writing, giving reasons for, or in opposition to, the proposed improvements. Comments will be received during the workshop, submitted online or can be mailed to DelDOT Community Relations, P.O. Box 778, Dover, DE 19903 or sent via email to dotpr@delaware.gov.

From DelDot:

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) is holding a Public Workshop to solicit public input for the proposed improvements along Old Baltimore Pike from Battle Drive to SR 72 and Old Cooch's Bridge Road from the intersection with Old Baltimore Pike to approximately 1,000 feet south of the intersection. The Public Workshop will be held on March 25, 2024, at Glasgow High School. Doors open at 5:30 pm, with a formal presentation starting at 6:00 pm and a Q&A session to follow. The workshop will end at 7:30 pm per our agreement with the high school. If you are interested in the project but unable to attend the public workshop, the display boards and presentation can be viewed at the project website link listed above. The display boards and presentation will be posted within one week after the live workshop date.

The purpose of the project is to the reduce congestion and improve mobility for all users within the study area and improve the bridges to a “good” condition rating to extend the lifespan of the structures. Addressing substandard geometric, structural, and operational conditions along the corridor will result in a benefit from a safety perspective. A project schedule will also be available. Prior to, and after the presentation, attendees will have an opportunity to review the proposed improvements and provide comments to DelDOT representatives.

This workshop is a continuation of the workshop held on February 6, 2024, to provide the public with a second opportunity to review the information presented at that workshop, but in a presentation/Q&A format. No new information will be presented at this workshop from the previous workshop.
